Eastern Student Artists Featured in Senior Exibition
The artwork of visual arts seniors at Eastern Connecticut State University is on display until May 17 for the annual senior exhibition. Titled "Outside the Lines," the exhibition kicked off with an award ceremony and reception on May 6 in the Art Gallery of the university's new Fine Arts Instructional Center.

Coastal Carolina University graduates Class of 2016
Approximately 1,100 students were graduation candidates for Coastal Carolina University's commencement ceremonies on May 6 and 7, 2016, at the HTC Center on campus. Grand Strand businessman and civic leader Dennis L. Wade was the speaker for the event, which consisted of four separate ceremonies.

Eastern Students Give Oral Presentations at CREATE Conference
More than 250 talented students at Eastern Connecticut State University presented research and creative work at the university's second annual CREATE conference this past April. CREATE stands for Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern, and is the university's premier, academic year-end showcase. At the culminating event, students of all majors presented professional posters, live music, dance performances, artwork, photography, documentaries and panel discussions.

Eastern Students Perform in Spring Concerts
A number of talented student musicians and vocalists from Eastern Connecticut State University performed in concerts on April 23 and 24. The collaborative concerts included members of Eastern's Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, Men's and Women's Choirs, Korean Samul Ensemble, String Trio, Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble.

Eastern Psychology Students Inducted into Psi Chi Honor Society
On April 25, Eastern Connecticut State University inducted 43 psychology students into Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology. Psi Chi's mission is to encourage excellence in scholarship and to foster the advancement of psychological science.

International English Honor Society Tau Delta Inducts New Members
The Assumption College Department of English has announced that 28 new members were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, on Tuesday, April 12. "We are excited to welcome the new members to Assumption's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta," said Becky DiBiasio, Ph.D., English department chair and one of the honor society's advisors. "It is with great pride that we recognize this group of students for their hard work, discipline, and love for this field of study." Sigma Tau Delta's aims to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature studies in undergraduate, graduate, and professional work; and to promote interest in literature, digital media, creative writing, and critical writing on local campuses and their surrounding communities. Eligible students must have a 3.4 or higher grade point average (GPA) within the major and as an overall GPA.

Eastern Students Design Exhibit at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
Four digital art students from Eastern Connecticut State University designed a permanent exhibit at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp--Paul Newman's famed camp for children with serious illnesses.
